Gemma Tierney

Gemma is an Aboriginal woman of Kamilaroi descent. As a Fulbright Future and Roberta Sykes Scholar, she will undertake a Master of Public Health at Columbia University.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 2018. Gemma has been the recipient of numerous awards during her studies, including the Indigenous Progress Award, which she received three years in a row. She participated in the 2018 Aurora Study Tour as a Katrina Dawson Aurora Fellow and is an active Role Model in Aurora's Outreach Program. Gemma aspires to be a leader in the health landscape and pursue a career that provides more equitable and holistic healthcare to Indigenous women and children.
