HARVARD CLUB ROBERTA SYKES
SCHOLARSHIP

Applications for this are now closed.

The Roberta Sykes Indigenous Education Foundation and the Harvard Club of Australia are excited to announce a new Scholarship for Principals of schools participating in The High School Program. The High School Program is an intensive academic enrichment program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students that is delivered by the Aurora Education Foundation.

For eligibility enquiries, please contact Leila Smith.

The Harvard Club of Australia Group is the organisation for Harvard alumni. Formed in 1961, the club's aim is to promote fellowship amongst alumni and to assist Australians wishing to study at Harvard.

In recognition of the pivotal role played by Principals in transforming the lives of students and their communities, this scholarship is designed to bolster leadership both among Indigenous Principals and Principals in secondary schools with significant Indigenous student enrollments.

The Scholarship provides the successful applicant with the opportunity to 'reflect, refocus and recharge' through a professional education program tailor-made for school Principals.

The Harvard Club Roberta Sykes Scholarship is for one of two prestigious Harvard Graduate School of Education programs:
  • Improving Schools: The Art of Leadership or
  • Leadership: An Evolving Vision; return airfare; and accommodation

The Scholarship is valued at approximately $14,000 and includes:
  • All tuition fees for one of two Harvard Graduate School of Education programs - either 'Improving Schools: The Art of Leadership' or 'Leadership: An Evolving Vision';
  • Travel insurance;
  • Economy return airfares ex-your nearest capital city; and
  • Accommodation for the duration of the course

Each successful participant is responsible for covering their own living expenses and airport transfers.

Recipients who choose to extend their travel at either (or both) ends of the course will be responsible for booking their own travel, travel insurance and accommodation. They will then be reimbursed the equivalent of return airfare to Boston and accommodation and travel insurance for the course period only.
